Save Gillies Hill
Quarry operators have applied to begin quarrying at this historic site where the non-combatant members of the Bruce's army were encamped for the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314. This supporting group of cooks, blacksmiths, grooms, etc became known as the Sma' Folk and played a significant role in the route of the English army at Bannockburn.
